We take your gown, and create top and skirt separates out of it.

The top will end at the natural waist seam (the line where the skirt joins). We will then add hook and bar closures in back, or a separating zipper if you prefer.

The skirt will get a 1” waistband that matches the color of the skirt material, and will close with it’s usual zipper.

Please note: Not all gowns are able to be made into separates. Please email for approval prior to ordering service.

**Things to be aware of:

Fit/Length: Tops when separated may feel or appear more “cropped” than your usual typical shirts. Our wedding dresses stop at the natural waistline, which is often above the belly button on many. This will be exactly where it is currently on your dress and won’t be shortened further. Just make sure that you are comfortable with where that line hits. In some cases we may be able to add a lace trim to the bottom edge to slightly extend it (if applicable).

Low-backs: We don’t recommend separating your gown if it has a lower back. We can do it, of course, but you may need to have further alterations performed by your tailor as it may need some tweaking to sit stably on your body without the weight of the skirt anchoring it securely in place.

Skirt Length/Fit: We will add a waistband according the the measurement of your bodice, unless you provide us with a measurement that you would like the waistband to fit. The skirt separate may or may not sit lower on your waist,
