This option is a unique experience, but isn’t for everyone. For a flat (discounted) fee, you will get a custom made gown that will be created based off of your 3 inspiration words, and then we will create a one of a kind gown using this information as a guide. You are handing over total creative license to our team, and then you will receive your custom gown about 18-20 weeks later. We can only do rush options up to 10 weeks for this option. This service is limited to online service only.

This option is NOT for everyone, because it can be nerve-wracking to not know what your custom piece will look like. This option is also discounted, because of that unknown factor. (Normally, custom gowns start at $4500). Please read through the following to see if this is a good option for you:

1. You are okay with NOT knowing what your gown will look like until complete.

2. You have total faith in our team, and are willing to hand over creative license.

3. You consider yourself flexible, easy going, and not a control-freak. For real!

4. This option is online-only. There are no in-person or virtual consultations appointments.

Some of the best custom gown creations we have ever done are when Leanne is given creative license and to create freely based off of a little direction. Our clients that have chosen this option in the past have been delighted by their surprise gowns. (you can see some on our instagram page @leannemarshallofficial. All gowns will be made of the finest silks and materials, fully lined and constructed with the same high standards as our signature collection gowns. All made of dead-stock and/or repurposed silk material to support our eco-friendly and sustainable practices.

Why do we offer this option? Because it serves 3 great purposes:

1. It allows our team & Leanne to use creative license, which is fun work to do!

2. It allows us to utilize materials thoughtfully and sustainably by utilizing back-stock and/or remnant material.

3. You get a custom gown at a great discount in exchange for trusting us and giving us the “go -ahead” making our custom gowns more accessible to clients.

How It Works:

To begin this process, simply select a size and agree to the terms and proceed through checkout. At the time of ordering, you must select your 4 inspiration words. They can be anything, for example: “red, long-sleeves, V-neck, asymmetrical, gradient” etc. We count compound words such as “side-slit” or “square-neck” as one word only. Your words can only be changed within 48 hours after purchase. After that, the production begins, and they cannot be changed. The words serve as an inspiration and guide, but do understand that this leaves plenty of room for creativity and interpretation. If your words are “red, long-sleeves, V-neck, gradient” You will still get a dress that embodies these. However, it may be made from various choices of silk, and the shade of red, placement of gradient, style of sleeve, etc is all up for interpretation. If you give words that are too rigid, confusing or don’t work we will either notify you to replace them, get clarification or will cancel the order.

When your order is placed, our team will send a confirmation a few days later and an estimate of the date the gown will be completed. Please note: We only send a photo once the gown is fully complete upon shipping. If you seek changes to be made after completion, these must be done in alterations by your tailor.

Each dress is made by hand in NYC when it is ordered. Please allow up to 16 weeks for production. If you need the dress sooner, please consider one of our rush options.
